You see them everywhere. Sometimes they're called "ad specialty" companies, or "ASI" for short. As their name implies, an ASI's primary focus is imprinting promotional products. From ballpoint pens to bottle openers, ASI's will sell any item if it has enough room to add your imprint. As with sellers who offer hundreds of pedometer styles, ASI sellers may have only one or two pedometer styles in stock, which they offer for quick imprint. It's difficult to judge what if anything this seller knows about pedometers or walking programs, or what experience their recommendations are based on.

Some pedometer sellers will say anything to get you onto their web site. Watch out for Google ads offering pedometers at prices too good to be true. Pedometers are electronic devices, containing a memory chip, circuit board, a button battery and other parts. Add in labor, shipping, and reseller markup, and common sense tells you someone had to cut corners somewhere. The old adage "you get what you pay for" is certainly true here.
